The international removal service costs to overseas locations are based on weight and (cubic) measurement of the household belongings once they are packed ready for shipment.
International removal services include air or ocean transportation charges, as well as the loading and unloading services of the shipper’s origin and destination relocation agents. Most shipments will be transported in 20ft or 40ft storage containers. International moving services do NOT include charges for storage, custom duty, servicing of appliances, liability insurance, or additional pick up/delivery of extra personal belongings.
International moving rates are not government regulated and can be very competitive.
Important Criteria to Look for in International Moving Companies
1. Check that the international removal company has been operating in the removal service industry for at least 10 years
2. Check the company is a registered OMNI member (Overseas Movers Network International)
3. Check the company is RIM (Registered International Mover) Certification. RIM Certification is an AMSA program, and has two major objectives. Firstly, it provides customers with a standardised, independent way of differentiating and selecting a qualified removal company operating anywhere in the world. Secondly, the program raises the overall level of professionalism and work-related performance of international moving companies and their workforce. To become RIM Certified the company must pass an initial examination and then met RIM standards for equipment and facilities, allowing them to handle international household goods shipments. The RIM standards will be verified by on-site inspections. To remain certified, the company’s management and personnel staff must complete a minimum of 15 hours of RIM approved training, within three years of the original certification. The company's facilities and equipment must also be inspected every three years. To date there are over 142 removal and storage companies that have completed the initial stage of the RIM program.

If you are planning to ship your vehicle internationally, you should expect plenty of overseas restrictions and regulations. Import limitations differ from country to country and it is advisable to research the allowances of your destination country.
