Although
we are already in the world where gender equality is a reality, women may still
be more vulnerable when they move alone than men. That is why for women
planning to move, a carefully prepared moving is not the only needed—safe
moving, too.
Here
are some precautions that single ladies should keep in mind when moving:
· Tell only few people
that you are moving. This will protect you against those who are planning to
take advantage of the situation. · If you are renting an
apartment, ask your landlord or landlady not to give out your new address. · Hire only a proven
reputable moving professional. It can be a local agent of a national moving
company or a recommendation from someone you know. · Give an impression that
you are moving with other people. You can do that by hiring a professional crew
or a local agency to load or unload your things. · Research about your soon
new neighborhood. · Don’t tell any of your
new neighbors that you are alone. · Keep your valuables like
jewelries in a safe deposit box. · Always be aware of where
you purse or any valuables are. · Change the new house’s
locks as soon as possible. · Check the safety of
other possible entrances like sliding doors and windows.
Better
safe than sorry so better not just to keep these things in mind but to apply
these precaution tips when you move. You surely don’t want to end up being in
the losing end just because of your carelessness.
