While people want to avoid moving houses, it is at times inevitable. For instance, if you are moving because of a job transfer you may have to live in a new city. It might be more exciting if you are moving to a bigger house. But then even if you are not, there are still things worth looking forward to.
After living in your home for so many years, you would have accumulated so many things that you no longer need and use. So if you are moving, this is a chance to get rid of these items and really start anew. You would be forced to segregate the things you will no longer need. Otherwise you would have to haul a whole lot of things that you don't even use anymore.
If the kids are not that popular in their current school, then you can tell them that it's really a chance to shine in their new school. Since the other kids don't know them, they can reinvent themselves and really become popular in their new school. More than that, what's even more important is they can make new friends without cutting ties with old friends.
Of course, moving to a new home is also a chance to pick a better looking house. As long as the budget permits it you can choose a more modern house or something that features the amenities your new lifestyle requires.
