Costs of Hiring Brokers to Help Lease out Your Property

Published on Saturday, 23 January 2010
Brokers usually ask and charge you flat rates until a certain amount, and after the fees are charged on a scale according to how much the transaction was. Here is information showing the costs of an average advisory and non-advisory broker.
On Rates
If the amount to trade is from £0 to £31,000, then the cost is 2.5% with a minimum of £60. If the amount of trade is £31,000 to £62,000, then the cost is 1.5%. Moreover, if the cost is £62,000, then the cost is 1%.
More rates depending on the type of broker
The associated costs are very much different depending on what type of broker administers the agreement. The advisory broker would most likely cost the most at more or less £60 minimum, whilst the minimum with a non-advisory broker is considerably about to be around £15.
If for example, you want to rent out £38,000 worth of Land. Should you decide to exchange or trade it online with a non-advisory broker, this would cost you £45.
In contrary, the amount with an advisory broker could be as high as £600. This figure is assumed by taking 1.5% of the transaction total of £38,000.Certainly, it is achievable to agree to a slightly better price/rate with an advisory broker, but it won't promise you to ever compete on price with a non-advisory broker.
When it comes to hiring brokers to lease out your property, it definitely involves money. It might also get tricky about your incurred costs in hiring them. Nevertheless, they are very helpful in getting tenants in your property.
