Garage Sale for Movers

Published on Tuesday, 08 December 2009 A garage sale is an excellent way to get rid of things you no longer need and make money at the same time. Here are the things to do to prepare yourself for a garage sale: * Put prices on each of the items that are about to be sold. Colour coded stickers or tags are important; this is to identify whose family member owns the item that is on display; by spotting colours, you will know who gets the money. * Prepare a collection of boxes and bags for your customers; nobody wants to carry away bought items with their hands. * Provide stacks of newspapers, handy enough to wrap up fragile items. * Classify items that are for sale and those that are not. * Put all pieces in a set altogether; mark prices sold as set and for each piece. * Put same classes of items in same place; kitchen stuffs, gardening things, clothes, tools and toys must be sorted out; items must be near of the same type. * Hang clothing on clothesline or on a rack if necessary. * Set up a cashier area where you receive and change customer's money; this area, of course, should have a calculator, tape, scissors, markers, strings, stickers, tags and a secure cash box.
