Follow these steps to get over loneliness in your new neighborhood. 1. Introduce yourself to your neighbors by inviting them in a simple meal. You can make a dozen of announcement cards and use them to invite your neighbors. 2. Engage in local organizations and clubs based on your hobbies. You will surely to meet a lot of people that share same interests there. 3. Try to get out often so you can meet more people in your neighborhood. Make sure to greet the people you meet-- a simple smile and hello would do. 4. Read your local newspaper to find out if there are requests for help. You can use this as an opportunity to meet more people and do something good at the same time. 5. Pop a card into your neighbor's letter box that says hello. Simple gestures like these can be a start of a good friendship. 6. Even if you are busy in your new neighborhood. Continue to keep in touch with your old friends and invite them for simple get-togethers in you new home. 7. Convince your spouse and children to do the same thing to expand your social network.
