How to Properly Pack Furniture for the Moving?

How to Properly Pack Furniture for the Moving?

Published on Saturday, 12 September 2009

Your house furniture can be big enough but that does not mean that it can already take care of itself. You still need to do your part and pack your furniture properly if you don't want it to arrive damaged or with scratches in your new location.   The easiest way to do that is hire a professional company to pack all your things, including the furniture. But if you don't have so much money to do this, then you have no choice but to pack the furniture yourself.   Packing furniture can be easy if you are well-informed on what and what not to do. Here are the tips you should follow to properly pack furniture:   ·       Have a place where you will pack furniture. This place should be inaccessible by your kids to avoid disturbances and accidents. It can be the basement, a spare room, or the stocks room. ·       Prepare all the packing materials you need and put all these in that room. You should include plastic sheets, bed sheets, Styrofoam, bubble wraps, scissors, packing tapes, packing strings, markers, and old newspapers. ·       Plan how to pack the furniture systematically. You may start packing the least unneeded things. ·       Disassemble furniture that can be disassembled. Put these in their original carton after wrapping the parts with bubble wraps, clothes, or used newspapers. ·       Furniture that can't be disassembled need special packing. Just wrap it with bubble wrap, clothes, carton, or newspapers. Give focus on the furniture's tips since these are the most vulnerable to scratches.   You may read other tips from other packing sources. If not, you may ask professional packers on how to do the right packing. They will surely be glad to help you on this.
