It is understandable that moving companies that handle international moves will be more expensive, so at the very beginning, you should prepare yourself to spend significantly more that what you would should you be moving within the country only. Also, since you'll be moving from one country to another, there is a bigger chance that things might go wrong, so you are always better off with the best. Well, at least the best you can afford. Try to research on the internet and compare rates and services, as well as feedback for international moving companies.
Another thing you need to pay considerable attention to is packing. Make sure that your boxes are durable and are not filled to their maximum weight. You should also make extra care in packing your breakable items, and should secure them in bubble wrap, packing peanuts and crumpled newspaper to keep them safe, especially during transport.
