Make Trash into Treasure

Published on Monday, 14 September 2009 It's a common occurrence for anyone who's lived in one place for a significant number of years to accumulate a lot of useless things that although seemed attractive at one time to buy, simply ended up being stocked and forgotten in closet corners, work sheds, or the attic. While you are still living in your home, there really isn't much of a problem (except if you run out of space) - but all these extra items will be sure to cause you trouble when you decide to move. The best way to save money and get rid of all these things is to sell them. There's a saying that "one man's trash is another man's treasure", so while these things may not be of any use to you, might prove to be needed or wanted by other people. You can sell your things two ways: one is by starting up an old school traditional garage sale. This way you can get rid of your stuff in a couple of days and have the profits diverted into your savings or for additional moving budget. Another way would be through online auctioning. Keep in mind, however, that online auctioning will need more time, so be sure to have your things sorted out long before your moving day so you can accommodate all the offers for your things.
