Moving Your Pool Table

Published on Tuesday, 11 August 2009 Moving Your Pool Table Playing pool is one of the favorite pastimes of many people. That is why many homes have a pool table. However, moving pool tables can be difficult. For one, it weighs a lot so you would need more people besides yourself to be able to lift the pool table. You would also need the right tools in order to pack and move your pool table from your old house to your new home. One thing you should know is that pool tables can be disassembled. This fact will help you make moving easier. You could start this process by removing the rails of the pool table. You have to pull the staples that hold the pocket straps. Again using the right tools is important in order not to damage the pool table. Once the rails are removed you can ask your buddies to help you lift the table upside down so you can remove all pockets without damaging them. When you're done, you can remove the felt. The felt can either be glued or stapled. Whichever the case is you have to be careful not to tear it especially near the area of the pockets. After that, you need to remove the slate off the frame of the table using a drill. Some screws may also be covered by plaster or beeswax. Be careful in removing them so as not to destroy the drill head. The last part to remove would be the legs of the table. After this, make sure you wrap them carefully and appropriately to protect them when you load all the parts in the moving vehicle.
