Must-Do's When Bid Your Roomies Goodbye

Published on Thursday, 24 December 2009

Must-Do's When Bid Your Roomies Goodbye When you are moving of your house and into a better living area, moving day can either be a hassle or a tearful goodbye to your roomies. There might be some problems to encounter that could turn things sour. Thus, a checklist of things to do during moving day will serve you well. Once you move out, you need to do the following: return shared items to the household and donate your other possessions if you think they can still use it. Ensure the room is thoroughly clean before inspection, and keep proper documentation. You should also take photos of your room, too. If there are debts, pay them or prepay the rent due you if you end up moving out mid-month. Make it a point to get a letter regarding all these transactions and practices, and return the keys to the household members or landlord. In your new home, you should coordinate with your new roommates regarding your arrival date. Purchase essentials required for the first couple of days, and keep money handy for whatever you need to pay. Get your key, take a picture of your room prior to moving in and keep your new documents in order.
