Tip 1: Coexist with your tenants. Create a healthy relationship with your tenants. Try sharing responsibilities with the chores such as lawn mowing and snow removals. Make the materials available for your tenants and offer assistance if necessary.
Providing parking space and laundry for your tenants is also helpful. These features will put your property not only in a livable condition but a move-in condition as well.
Tip 2: Ensure Good House/Wiring Condition. Tenants may damage your house if you let them fix the wirings. Have your wirings for cable/DSL done by a professional. By doing so, you can avoid additional expenses from repairs.
Tip 3: Include Utilities For the Rent. Determine the cost of utilities being used and include it in the amount of rent since this could be one of the things that will be hard to collect from tenants especially when they move out.
Take each step one at a time. Look at them as a long-term plan to return your property investment gradually. With these tips in mind, you won't have to experience the mishaps of renting a house.
