The Secret to Transporting Your Computer Safely
Published on Friday, 26 February 2010
When you will be moving to a new home, you can have doubts and fears about the sensitivity of moving your computer unit. However, when you ensure that you handle it with care, moving it will just be as smooth as moving your other less expensive and sensitive furniture. To start with, it is very important to back up all of the most important programs and data in your computer. Then, place the back-up CDs in a safe place during the move. Also, make sure to remove all the CD-roms, tapes, diskettes, cartridges from the drives of the computer. Once done, you can start packing each part of the computer. It is best to secure each part in the original box it came in during the purchase. If the original packaging materials are not available anymore, you can use bubble wraps or popcorn as alternatives. In terms of the CPU, make sure to pack it upright or sideways ensuring that the motherboard is laying flat on its bottom. If you make sure that you follow all these tips closely, transporting your computer will be as safe as you wish it to be. Hence, give proper attention to all these tips.
