Tips on How to Do a More Organized Packing

Published on Thursday, 15 April 2010 Packing is the most time consuming and tedious task in moving. But instead of getting overwhelmed of this task, you need to be organized. You should start by assessing your things so you can discard all unwanted items and prepare enough packing materials. Allot the packing materials for each room so you can pack by rooms. This will allow you to pack more systematically. Your house would not be cluttered while you are packing. Nevertheless, you should pack the non-essential things first. For instance, you can start with the books and CDs first. You could also pack out of season clothes. If you don't want to be rushed, you should start packing your things early. Again, do it by rooms but leave the things you will still use until the day of the move. You can start in the garage and eventually pack the kitchen last. This will allow you to get rid of clutter. If you are renting you will also be able to check which parts of the house needs maintenance and repairs. Then as the move approaches you can begin packing more things and end your packing with the most essential items on the last day. The toiletries should also be packed last as you would most likely be using them until the last day too. By packing in this order, you won't have to pack in haste. You will also have everything you need until the last minute.
