Perhaps you have lived in your current home for more than a decade now and you are moving out in the next few weeks. How many of your things do you need to get rid of? How about holding a moving sale? But wait, check the local community policy and see if permits need to be secured first. Do you even have a yard where you can have your moving sale? If not, maybe you need to take your goods to a local flea market instead.

The key always is to prepare early. Have the things for sale ready for the sale and start gathering them as early as possible. Price them attractively so you will be able to dispose most of your things and raise more extra bucks. Of course, valuable items need to go to auction houses so you will get the right value for them. Items that have been with the family should be offered to family first.

When you're ready, start announcing the moving sale in the community. Post online ads since most people go online to search for things nowadays. Posting ads in local newspapers still help too. Make big and attractive ads and post them in telephone lines as well.

Then on the day of the sale, make sure that have enough bags for the sold items and trash bins for all the trash that will be accumulated during the day. Electric outlets and batteries are also needed for testing electrical and battery operated items. And most importantly, have enough change so the paying process will go faster.
