There are plenty of ways to prepare for a home removal, just as there are many different ways to prepare for any big transition in life. There is no correct way to go about planning your move, but there are certainly some helpful tips that everyone should heed. First off, print out or bookmark our handy removal checklist to give you something to work from. You may have already guessed that a good clearing out should be at the top of your list. There’s more than one way to clear out your home in preparation for a move, however. You could donate many of your things to a charity shop; you could sell items online or at a tabletop sale; or you could invite friends and neighbours over for a party and tell them to take home whatever they want (of what you’ve set out).
Once you’ve done with the clearing out, you can then move on to the assessment, which will give you an idea of exactly which supplies and materials you will need and what sized to reserve in terms of storage unit and removal vehicle. Did we mention that we can help you with the storage as well as the transport?. Whether you are interested in our man and van service WD3 or our full list of removal services, Handy Moves has got you covered. Call today on 02087 467 129 to find out more
The Watford postcode area is sometimes simply called the WD postcode area. Its center is in Hertfordshire, in Watford, but there are 13 different postcode districts in seven post towns that make up this postcode area. Mail for the area is processed in the Home Counties North Mail Centre. But the WD postcode area isn’t entirely outside of London – it covers the northwestern part of Greater London, which is not very highly populated. This part of London is found in the London Borough of Hillingdon and is called Harefield. The postcode area also covers a small portion of the district of Buckinghamshire in Chiltern. The districts in this postcode area are: WD3 through WD7, WD17, WD18, and WD19, followed by WD23, WD24 and WD25.
WD3 is by far the largest of the WD postcode districts and it falls in the southwest of the postcode area. It is bordered by the WD4, WD17, and WD18 postcode areas. It is also actually the first postcode district, as there is no WD1 or WD2. WD1 and 2 once did exist, but they have been recoded and have become what are now WD23, 24 and 25. WD3 is in the post town of RICKMANSWORTH and has a large coverage area, as would be expected from its size. That coverage area includes Chandlers Cross, Batchworth Heath, Chorleywood, Chenies, Croxley Green, Loudwater, Heronsgate, Mill End, Maple Cross, Sarratt, Rickmansworth and West End. Its local authority areas are Three Rivers, Chiltern and Hillingdon.
Surrounding the WD postcode area clockwise from the north are St. Albans (AL), Enfield (EN), NW London (NW), Harrow (HA), Southall (UB), Slough (SL) and Hemel Hempstead (HP).

Once you’ve settled on your move out date, whether it is dictated by the end of your lease or the closing date for the purchase of a new home, remember that the first two things you should arrange are the clearing out and the removal assessment. Having the latter done by trained professionals will really help you to plan and budget the remainder of your removal. It’s not every day that you go through such a big transition – call in the experts on 02087 467 129 to make it a success
