The London N postcode area, in North London, covers areas in the London Boroughs of Islington, Hackney, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Barnet. It is sometimes referred to as the Northern postcode area, or simply the N postcode area. North London, however, is a large area, and parts of it are covered by other postcode areas, such as Harrow or London NW. The area covered by the postcode resembles a wedge extending from central London (the N1 postcode district) towards the M25. It consists of 23 numbered districts, one of which is a non-geographic postcode district. They were designated in 1917 when the London N postcode area, like many other London postcode areas, was divided and the divisions given alphanumeric identities. The area itself dates to 1857, when it was known as the N district.
The N7 postcode district was once known by the historic name, the Holloway district, although this name is no longer part of the postal addresses of the district’s residents. It covers Holloway, and parts of Barnsbury, Tufnell Park, and Islington. Like all N postcode districts, it is in the LONDON post town. Camden and Islington are the local authority areas responsible for the district, which is just northeast of Regent’s Park and just west of Highbury Square. One of the landmarks of the N7 district is Arsenal Stadium, which any follower of football will know. It is also home to London Metropolitan University’s Carleton Grange and Caledonian Park. Residents can easily reach central London or other parts of the city from one of the district’s four Tube stations. King’s Cross is just outside the districts western boundary, which more or less follows York Way.
Your new home or office may be in N7, but you will have to determine if it is in the Borough of Camden
or the Borough of Islington
. Either way, get in touch with the local council authorities to ask about reserving a parking space for the day of your move. Showing up in front of your new place with no place for the moving van to park can be a huge hassle. And don’t forget to get your free quote from us, too!.
